Summer Academy Students

Summer Academy welcomes all first year students to get a head-start on their degree. Learn the campus culture and academic expectations, connect with faculty and staff for academic advising, and get 7 units done before fall. To assist with costs, our office offers up-to $3,061 in grant funding for First Year Academy Students and $2,897 for Transfer Academy Students.

Financial Aid Eligibility Requirements

A 2016-2017 FAFSA is needed for new students to receive financial aid for the 2017 summer quarter. This is in addition to the 2017-2018 FAFSA you must file for the upcoming school year.

First Year Students:

  • Submit a 2016-2017 FAFSA and enroll in Summer Academy courses by June 15.

  • The Summer Academy is a 7 unit program. You must remain enrolled in and complete all courses to maintain aid eligibility.

Transfer Students:

  • If you applied for financial aid at a prior institution for 2016-2017, make a correction to this FAFSA and include UC Santa Cruz School Code 001321.

  • Must enroll in Summer Academy courses by June 15.

  • The Summer Academy is a 7 unit program. You must remain enrolled in and complete all courses to maintain aid eligibility.
